Dunno, but I'm trying to find all the choral music. I'll let you know if I strike the mother lode.

There were no offical pipes before/during/after the ceremony itself. Whether there was anyone in the crowd playing, I couldn't tell you. I was watching ABC - mostly - and they didn't air any.

However, according to a post on the Dunsire forum, the newlyweds were piped into their reception:

The piper was David Rogers, former PM of the Irish Guards.

Question about David Beckham and his OBE.... worn on the right ? shouldn't it have been on the left as it was awarded to him? Please correct me if I am misunderstanding the protocol.

Bang on old chap, he dropped a bit of a clanger there. Two in fact, no other civilians were wearing their gongs.

Thanks for that Jock... I thought it VERY odd, and as you did, noticed he was the only civilian to be sporting a gong.

Yes indeed, he is absolutely free to drop a clanger with two billion people watching, whenever he likes.

    Thanks for posting those DownUnder!

On the BBC America coverage the only clear kilt-sighting was at around the 1:10 point on the prewedding coverage, a long shot in the church were a fellow wearing white hose can be seen.

There was a pipe band and some kilties at St Andrews, at their gathering to watch and celebrate the wedding. (And one fellow wearing a Lovat Green Argyll jacket with scarlet trousers.)

BTW I learned yet another English phrase "knees up" that day- as in the headline

    Britain's Right Royal Knees Up

It was interesting to see the range of men's dress at the Royal Wedding, from formal Morning Dress to ordinary suits. It struck me how many men were wearing buff/amber/gold waistcoats with their Morning Dress.

I piped at a wedding in Beverly Hills yesterday, at which around half of the people had flown over from London, and several from Glasgow. One of the English men was dressed precisely like many of the men at the Royal Wedding, with Morning Dress, buff waistcoat, top hat, etc. The half-dozen Glaswegian men were all kilted, in Prince Charlies.
