Readers;
Mayhap someone with the Knowledge can help me here, with a question(which I hope is in the right Forum).
A bit of background is needed- I have worn long hose as a re-enactor of a Scots Regiment(a civilian). When in kilt, I turn the long over the knee & plus lenght hose down over the tyed garter-and go. Note here, the garter is tyed betwixt the knee joint & above the swell of the calf muscle. The garter knot barely shows. It must be tyed here to keep the hose UP!
Now the problem. I bought a dandy-fine pair of circa 2012 kilt hose(Chevoit of Scot-land) from the S.T.M. When I put them on they come to appx. 03 inches below the 'normal for me' garter zone. and the garter knot does, indeed show.
Now the Question: why are circa 2012 Kilt Hose too short? The label & advert implys one lenght only-and the images of kilt hose show the same shortness. The garter, of any sort, is not needed, except for 'show'-it is too low on the leg-and spandex does the rest of keeping the hose up. And does 'one height fits all' play merry h*ll with short & very tall kilt users?
Your thoughts and comments are asked:before I go to a nurseing home and find a 'sweet little old lady' to knit me up a tall pair of hose!
Thanks
