    Well, I own a "Jacobite" shirt... and it's quite comfortable for hiking, casual wandering about, and yes -- even renfaire. To me, it's like a T-shirt: casual, comfortable, and most assuredly not particularly "historic" or "Scottish." Like a T-shirt, I think it's OK with a casually worn kilt, but it's equally OK with jeans.
