Does Everyone Know About Kilts?

This question may sound stupid but doesn't everyone know what a kilt is? I figured everybody knows what a kilt is because who in this world hasn't at least seen Braveheart or gone to a St. Patrick's Day parade? Is it possible that people out there might not know what it is?

Yes it is possible. In the region where I live, I frequently meet people who have never heard of a kilt. Many have never even heard of Scotland. I have also found, many of these friendly folks are from lands outside the U.S.
