After the second glass the mists of time parted,(briefly) and I recalled the Corries on TV in the late 70's with something like it and a sleeveless tunic.

then the light bulb came on and I recalled a book I once owned called "so you are going to wear the Kilt", (again from the 70's) yes a picture is emerging !!

so scouring the internet I find on E Bay a Copy, I will attach a snip from the book. if I can it described a "Colonial" shirt and a "Peitean" jerkin suitable for use in warm weather.

Has anyone ells seen this before.
its the closest I have found to the Gillie Shirt. (I still, will not be getting one).
