Another point is that the sash is a desendant of the sword baldric, which was used to carry a sword, generally from the 15th through 16th Century. So why would it be WRONG for a man to wear a sash if he so desires?
I'm not saying it would be fashionable, just NOT WRONG.
Besides, the majority of folks call kilts the "S-word" and say that they are for women. If we don't let that attitude sway us from wearing kilts, why the fuss about a sash?
