That's not the end of it, Ron! Here in the United Kingdom, it is the unavailability nowadays of half-sizes in shoes/boots that gets to me. Having a perfect 9½ sized foot (and a perfectly turned ankle to match!!!), I find I am either crippled by having to buy a 9 or am obliged to wear insoles, etc. if I buy a 10.
Oh, by the way, I DO have two feet and two ankles ;)
