UTILIKILTS Made Outside The USA?
Greetings!
First, let me state that this UK question is NOT related to my simmering anger over the recent UK "we will no longer post any pics of customers who have guns" issue. It isnt.
I recently saw an ad for a Scottish kiltmaker who advertised "military kilts".
I stupidly made the mistake of asking if they make any sport-type kilts in camouflage (hoping to add a new camo pattern to my kilt collection).
The kiltmaker replied something to the effect that they make REAL kilts for the Scottish military and that (I am paraphrasing) "you should turn your attention to Utilikilts where they have their kilts sewn in India and then sell them through California"
My question is - does UK have their stuff made outside the USA?
Are there any other USA kilt companies who are, overtly or covertly, having their products sewn in a foreign land?
A recent kilt purchase from Scotland (80s DPM pattern I think) had a nice tag proudly proclaiming "Designed in Scotland" with no reference to where it was MADE. For the low price I paid I was not surprised and the quality was decent.
Most sincerely,
OE
