Georgia the Brave?
Have we seceded again, and they forgot to tell us about it?
Today I happened to be watching on TV the inauguration of the governor and consitutional officers of the state of Georgia, a ceremony of great if low budget pomp. The US and state flags were piped in by a piper from the Highway Patrol Color Guard (or was it Honor Guard?) wearing a kilt whose tartan I didn't recognize. It was mostly blue with white and perhaps a bit of black. Could have been clergy, I guess. It certainly wasn't the Georgia state/district tartan: http://www.tartans.scotland.net/tart...tartan_id=2238
The amusing thing was that the Governor, first lady and assembled notables reverently placed their right hands over their hearts for the duration of the piping....of "Scotland the Brave," a moment unrivaled in irony since the first President Bush declared, "Don't cry for me, Argentina."
