Took a chance and said ...
I have worn my Cilt for the past several days. Been into town a few times, travelled on many buses, had a few beers here and there. No reactions from anyone about it whatsoever … might as well had a pair of trouxxxs on.. That was until Sat. We decided at the very last minute to go on the bus to the market town of Raglan, just for a quick look around and to sample the two real ale pubs there. The pubs are very old, but unfortunately I didn't take the camera so no pics. Will go again soon though. When we walked into the first pub, we decided to go into the snug/bar and not the lounge part. It was a small room with nobody in it apart from 3 guys (in their late 50’s) sat at and facing the bar. As we walked in they all turned around to see who had entered. When they spotted my Cilt they all looked at each other with one of those ‘faces’. Anyhow, after we had settled in I went to the bar and ordered some beers (Reverend James by the way). As the barman was pulling the pints, the guy sat on my left and still facing forward said looking at the Barman, ‘I like your skixt’. One of the others on my right facing forward, grunted saying ‘Aye’.
I took the plunge and replied (looking straight forward) ‘ Thanks girls, I appreciate your comments because I wasn’t sure the colour suited me’. You could see they were getting uptight. Anyhow I went back with the beers. When it came to the second round I went up again and squeezed in between two of them saying as I put some empty glasses on the bar, ‘Excuse me girls’. They remained motionless still facing forward. Anyhow when it was time to leave for the next pub, I said to my friends ‘I hope there’s a nice bunch of girls at the next pub as well, cause they all seem so friendly around here’, at the same time I placed our empty glasses on the bar again. I was ready to duck just in case. Nothing happened. So off we went … the other pub was totally uneventful, no girls, just ‘real’ men and some women. We drank in this pub by the way Adnams ‘Broadside’.
I rather enjoyed the adventure .. It gave us all a laugh
