So... I got a phone call today
From Steve at Freedomkilts. You have NO IDEA how much of a relief it was to hear his pleasant and friendly voice. My kilt was going on the table.
It's funny... I know this is going to sound really strange, and might not make sense, but with everything going on with my wife and everything up in the air right now, hearing from Steve that kilt was going to be made shortly was like pulling a cork out. Tension flowed out of me like a river and life suddenly snapped back in to focus. Things were 'normal' again. It was like the flick of a lightswitch. A great weight lifted off my shoulders. Life was back to day to day living. I don't know how to explain it, but I know what I felt. I spent the rest of the day in lighter spirits actually taking some time to think about caring for my self, which I haven't done in a while. Not trying to sound selfish, but I have run my self in to the ground. I need to get back to making hats again, and being productive, and maybe having a kilt night or two. Or three. And enjoy the simple pleasures of life, which, as of late, I have been completely unable to savour.
Steve, thanks. You did a lot more than make me a kilt. You may not know what you did, or how important it was, but you made a world of difference.
My wife noticed it too. I am a bit more stable and now she is a bit more stable.
