Hmmm... I wonder if that was the standard for delivery?
Mine got dumped in a pile of sleet, rain, and melting snow on the front porch. (We had "confused" weather Friday.) The shipping box was of course kaput, one ream's wrapping paper got damp (but the paper was OK) - the rest were all OK.
I don't think I'd have been so lucky if my work hadn't shut down 3 hours early for the inclement weather - another 3 hours of soaking and there'd have been a bunch of damage.
But, all's well that ends well, and as I often say, "I'd rather be lucky than good."
