Strathspey Fiddlers (DFW area) July 3rd

Hello Ladies and Gents,

It has recently come to my attention that the Strathspey Fiddlers will be performing Tuesday, July 3rd at Trinity Hall. I already know of some "non X-Markers" who are showing an interest in attending in kilt, so we might make some new friends.

Sorry for the short-ish notice as this has just come to my attention. Ok, not that short of notice... I'll probably head out there to check it out.

The Strathspey Fiddlers is one of the most sought after groups in Scotland. They were formed many years ago under the guidance and expertise of Donal Barr. They are a group of performers from a rural area straddling the Aberdeenshire/Banffshire border in the North of Scotland. Although the majority are fiddlers, they also play other instruments such as bag pipes, drums and whistles, while others perform traditional Highland Dancing. Their vocalists sing in Gaelic and the local Scots dialect.

The group is well known at Celtic festivals, has toured Bavaria, worked with BBC Scotland and perform regularly to worldwide guests at the local Chivas Regal Distillery. The whiskey connection also saw them playing to audiences in London and Frankfurt early in 2003.

We're pleased to have seventeen of the group join us as they visit Dallas this year. Plan to join us for Dinner on Tuesday evening to welcome the travelers, enjoy the music & dance!
