My grandfather served in the 2nd Batallion Nova Scotia (Cape Breton) Highlanders many years ago. Of that I am quite proud. And recently, Matt Newsome, found a hat badge from the Nova Scotia Highlanders that I got from him yesterday. It is to be my newest kilt pin, and worn with my CCK Maple Leaf, as soon as I can alter it from a hat badge to a kilt pin.

The condition of the pin suggests that it is not a re-issue, or commemorative, but genuine and I will leave it in that condition. The picture is utter crap (I'll replace it soon), but it is St. Andrews cross with a shield and Lion Rampant crest in the center, surrounded by a ring that reads: "SIOL NA FEAR FEARAIL - NOVA SCOTIA HIGHLANDERS"

I'm really pleased and proud of this hat badge, and of my grandfather. I think this kilt pin will provide a great connection to him, for me and others in my family.

Thanks Matt.
