    NS Highlanders...

I have a NS Highlander badge just like that in my Canadian Scottish Regiments badge collection. That is a great find and what a great personal connection -- I know you'll wear it with pride.

You could also wear it as a cap badge, it's original design, on a balmoral or glengarry, with a swatch of MacDonald tartan behind it, the regimental tartan.

The Novas have a very nice regimental museum web site (which I'm sure you've seen) here:

And, there's a great colour image of the badge on T.F. Mills's site:

    Again, great find!

    Cheers,

    Todd

I have a balmoral, but really don't wear it - it (the dicing) has really become a venue to showcase games pins.

Thanks! I had never seen the colour image, and never realized that what I referred to as the crest with the Lion Rampant is actually the Provencial COA. Very cool, and adds even more.

What he didn't tell you was that the Gaelic motto means "Breed of Manly Men." How cool is that?!
