My grandfather frequently spoke of the Sikh's reputation for fierceness; he was stationed in India for part of WWII, and developed a great respect for the Scots, Gurkhas and Sikhs.

Our Scottish society had a "Sikh Night" several years ago where we invited a local Sikh gentleman to come and speak about the Scottish-Sikh connection. We also ordered Indian food from the local Indian restaurant. It was a great evening.
