Scottish Kilt night - Scottish Pipe Band Championship
Where: Levengrove Park, Dumbarton (See below for details to get there.)
When: Saturday May 19th
What's going on: Scottish Pipe Band Championship from 09:00AM to 05:30PM (It's a free, unticketed event!)
So how do we do it?
If you're not driving there yourself, you can meet up with me in Glasgow Queen street train station at 10:20AM. (Train leaves at 10:40AM)
If you're going by car, PM me and I will give you my mobile number. When we're all there we can find a decent spot to meet up.
If you can't make it that early, let me know and we will try to work something out.
What can we do?
Aside from the Pipe bands I'm assured there will be stalls and hot food available. There are also good pubs nearby where we can have a few drinks if we're so inclined.
If anyone is interested in train times from getting home go to http://www.firstscotrail.co.uk/
The trains are very regular from early morning till late evening so those who need to leave early should be able to do so.
If you're interested, here are pictures from last year

O.K. Looks like I might be planning to leave a little early. (I'm usually up at 6am and out the door by 7, so I tend to be that way.)
How about a 2 O'clock meeting at the train station for those coming by train. We can meet up with anyone already there by car?

Well, we're just a few weeks away so this is a bit of a role call.
Who is going, how are you getting there, that sort of thing.
Hope everyone's looking forward to a wee trip.

I'll be travelling from here on the Friday, staying overnight at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel at Glasgow Airport with Ann as this will give her a base on the Saturday at which to entertain her chum Margaret who lives in Barrhead and who will meet her at the hotel. We got a very cheap deal for one night's bed and breakfast at the hotel. You might be able to do a good deal there too Acaig. Early evening Saturday I'll go back to the hotel to collect Ann and then drive home. Coming from Glasgow Airport, which is to the west of the city on the road to the Erskine Bridge its probably much easier for me to drive direct to Dumbarton and meet you there.
