I was a Venture scout, years ago. Sadly my group was a victim of mis-management. I fared better in girl scouting (one year short of my 15 year pin) where I was in a group that avoided all the changes made to make girl scouting more "interesting" to the 12-17 year old girls. They added some really wimpy girly stuff, so we kinda went our own way and kept doing more of the old stuff. I did more hard-core camping, hiking, caving, etc... in girl scouts than the Venture scouts ever thought to do. Even before I was a camp counselor.
