I know the convention is that the shirt and hose should match, but is this necessary if a jacket and waistcoast are being worn, not much of the shirt shows? I have off-white, black, and dark green (two pairs with different shades) and could probably borrow my brother's Lovatt blue hose.
Oh, and... ghillie or regular brogues? I have both. Probably regular, eh?
I prefer to wear hose that pulls out one of the kilt's minor colors, like one of the stripes; but, for Black Watch, I'd wear either dark green or navy blue. Also, I recommend the ghillie brogues.
