Oh, and I was pretty bummed that there weren't more locals in kilts. Other than one or two tourists in cheap kilts and the store clerks in various grades of kilt, I only saw a single pedestrian in a nice kilt and tweed daycoat outfit. Saw a bunch of wedding groups in kilts, and ran into several individual and small group street pipers who were appropriately kilted. Three of us at our meeting formal dinner were kilted and either in PCs or Argylls.

Can't count the number of times I was stopped by a tourist and asked for directions. Wife says I got a lot of looks from both locals and tourists---some stranger than others. Got a lot of compliments too, though from locals and shopkeepers and waitresses, etc...

most folk over here will wear their kilt for special occasions, not everyday wear
