Shamed into Walking

Months ago I'd said I'd do the Diabetes UK walk at Herrington Country Park on my birthday (29th June).
I'd heard no more about it until a parcel arrived yesterday which contained this braw tee-shirt which is a super match for my Spirit of Scotland kilt.
In the meantime I had made other plans for that day, but since they have placed me in the first tranche of walkers in the morning and given me a tee-shirt I guess I better go along and take part. The walk goes past the Penshaw Monument, illustrated on the tee-shirt, and which was built in 1884 in honour of John George Lambton, first Earl of Durham and first Governor of Canada.
