For several years now we have had a mated pair of Red-Tail Hawks that have taken up residence in a tree behind our house. We see them soar and scream their battle cries, and generally it is a joy to share the world with them. We have seen them raise their young, and keep the squirrel population down. Most days, they are flying high overhead or they take wing as soon as we incroach on their domain.

Well this morning (and in fact for all day) it was different. At about 06:15 my wife softly calls, “C’mere – bring the camera.”

There sitting on our back fence, not more than ten feet from our back door is the male. And the female is on a limb higher up. I quickly took these low quality shots, and we have been watching them, off and on, all day.

Truly Mother Natures Marvels!

This first shot is just to show perspective - The fence and tree are visible out the right window under and behind the triangular wind chime.

Phot-shopped to try and show as much detail as possible.
