I have NEVER had a problem with a MM PV kilt holding a pleat. In fact, when you take it out of the wash, you'll have to iron it, but the pleats are still VERY visible. If you wet wash wool, you will DEFINITELY have to iron it.

For summer wear, also consider a 13 oz wool "5 Yard" kilt. They are great as well and tend to swing nicely.
