I think you take this all to seriously, but if your really interested the celebration is of the fact that Guy Fawkes DIDN'T manage to blow up parliament.
Do you have a similar problem celebrating the burning of witches on All Hallows Eve?
I do admit to having a problem with the this event is Scotland, they won!! whats the fuss about, Queen Liz the first died and we went and got the King of Scotland and he became King of both countries, so England joined the jocks and their king became ours, you won the game, well done.
Trouble is he didnt like living in Scotland much and decided to move down south with the much better weather etc, employment opportunities, easy transport links with europe etc, so we are ALL really Scots, why all the fuss.
