New Kilt from a Great Kiltmaker

I have recently taken delivery of my kilt.

I was recommended this lady by a member of this site and I am so glad they did. I had a few places lined up through the internet where I felt I would have obtained a good quality kilt, but was always a little scared of how it would all turn out.

As it happened, this lady was based in Cardiff, just an hours drive away and she is a renowned kiltmaker for many years and has also worked in Canada. Hence, if there were any issues with the fit, or anything else then it wouldn't need to be shipped backwards and forwards. I took my own measurements and supplied all the details.

The biggest thing for me was that it is hand stitched - yes, you read that right, hand stitched and made by someone I have personally dealt with over the phone.

When it arrived, I was a little apprehensive. Then I opened the outer cover and took the kilt out. My first thoughts were "WOW!", I was more or less speachless when I saw the tartan in its full glory, I felt through the packaging and could feel the quality in the kilt (from the Welsh woolen mills - its a Welsh tartan representing my family name). I left it at that while I was in work.

When I got it home and took it out I was amazed at the detail, the workmanship and the quility of her work. I then tried it on. Even her name tag was centred on the inside so when its on my waist - the kilt is on central. Just little things like that. Perfect fit. I have included some pics of it below...

How long did it take?...12 days from receipt of fabric to delivery of the kilt and very reasonably priced.

What's her name - its Carol Fitzherbert and if anyone would like her details, I would be more than happy to supply them. In my opinion, she is first class and I am over the moon with her workmanship (or should that be workwomanship). The stitching on the lower hem was just for transportation - I have not taken them of yet.

These pictures won't show here when I have uploaded them to Kilt Pictures - Kilt Accessories. These are now hosted from my Photography site from a private passworded folder - if you have any problems seeing them let me know.
