Great Service, great stuff from Sockdreams.com

Last Saturday I was perusing in boards, doing some internet searching for socks to wear with my two new SWKs. I came across an old X-marks comment about Sockdreams.com.

I went to the site and was blown away by the variety and selection of different type of socks. I have not found a local place to by decent knee highs, I even tried a police supply store thinking they would have some kind of boos socks, but alas no.

I decided to try a selection of some of the socks available on Sockdreams. com. The Diamond Pattern Greens fit really well with my new Gordon, but i have been most impressed by the O'Woolies Over the knees. Great socks, kept my legs nice and toasty even in the blustery cold we had yesterday.

These are not hand knitted argyles by any means, but for $10 a pair I will be buying more of these. The Diamond pattern Knee highs were a steal at 8 buck a pair, I have not tried the o'basics which were only $6.00 a par. All in all I picked up 4 pair of really nice socks for $30 including shipping. I ordered the socks on Saturday night and they were delivered on Wednesday, wonderful service.

In most of their products they offer only one size, which they say fits up to men's shoe size 10.

Most of their products appear to be designed as women's fashions.

I'm a size 11 with fairly big calves and I wear their socks without a problem.

Really for the price you can't beat their variety of colors, styles and materials.

    Kilted_John, hospitaller,

Thanks for your posts. I was unwilling to risk buying something I could not wear, but thanks to your assurances I may give them a try.

Definitely try the O'woolies over the knee., thigh high for smaller folks. 70% wool and 30% poly blend they are stretchy enough to go over my knees, or fold down with flashies right at the knee.

I wore a pair of the o'basics today to church, nice sock plenty of stretch. I have size 11 feet and pretty big calf's.

Soccer or football socks mat my leg hair and get itchy, no problem like that here.

Are they thick enough to not look "see through" ?

Their main business is selling stuff for the distaff side, but a lot of the socks they sell are adaptable to kilt wearing. Been purchasing their socks since 2005... A lot of their socks, which are sold in the 9-11 sock size will stretch to fit bigger feet. Most of the over-knee socks will work as knee socks on a guy, with a turndown (or two, depending on the amount of stretch).

Just a cheaper alternative for people who need kilt friendly socks, but can't afford multiple pairs of the real thing at $20-$50 a pop, and don't want soccer (or rugby) socks...

I'll pitch in with my recommendation for Sock Dreams. Their socks are great, as are the prices, and shipping time. I really like their diamond knit knee highs for summer wear.

Just ordered some of thier socks yesterday.
Not bad for the price compared to some kilt hose.

Thanks for sharing the info about this site.
