Kilted Charity
Okay, So me and a couple friends were discussing kilting oppurtunities. I realized that going to a pub once a month is fine and fun. But what could I do that would be fun, meaningful, and fit with my lifestyle? And I thought about all the wonderful X-markers who are some of the most warmhearted, loving, decent folks I know. I know alot of you do charity work.
I have always felt the need to do good work. I always devote time every year to a cause, weather it be cleaning a local stream, giving toys to children, helping feed the hungry, or helping a local college team raise money for uniforms.
So why not do it kilted!
We have a few kilt themed organizations here, but they are either affiliated with the "elite," such as firefighters and policemen. Or they are affiliated with scottish heritage. So why not a group that is open to everyone? Men, women, children and the like?
So I am working on this idea and would like your help.
#1 I need help with the name. Here are a couple of ideas I have had.
Kilted 4-a Cause
Kilted for a kause.
Kilted 4-a cause STL (Saint Louis)
www.kilted4-acause.com
Any input would be great!
Eventualy once I decide on a name I will start a website dedicated to causes around locally to get involved in. Wouldn't it be neat to walk proudly in your kilt!
Me and my wife, and 1 friend have commited to a walk this fall in St. Charles for the American Diabetes Association! Once a name is decided an official team will be made! We will collect money and 100% will go to them, so there would be no "membership" fees to be part of "kilted 4-a cause." And everyone involved so far will walk in our kilts and bring some flare to the cause! I am looking into other walks as well.
I just need to save up some dough for some T-s! Here was some designs I had been working on. The qoute I recieved was 25.00 each.
