I was pleased to welcome Graham (Tassiecelt) and his wife, Leslie to Bicknell Grange in Storrington recently. They flew into Heathrow airport (London) from Australia and drove straight down to Storrington - although how they managed the drive immediately after all those hours of flying, I do not know! Meeting them at Heathrow were their daughter and son-in-law who had flown in a day or so earlier.

Gray and Leslie were at the start of a four week UK touring holiday (today, they crossed the border into Scotland and, I believe, paid a very brief call on Robertson and Emma at The Ferintosh). Their first night was spent in Storrington before they drove on towards Cornwall.

Considering the hours of relative discomfort and lack of sleep they had just suffered, they looked surprisingly 'with it' and so the obligatory photos had to be taken on the South Terrace of The Grange:





The 'sundial shot' was a requirement, but was almost overlooked!



Then it was off to The Frankland Arms for an evening meal before jet-lag caught up with my guests:



Next morning, before setting off again, a happy hour was spent viewing The Kollection down in the vaults. Sorry but temporary security arrangements do not permit photographs taken down there to be published on the Internet at present, but I hope that little problem will be resolved before The Wizard of BC and his good lady come to visit in just over a month's time.

Gray presented me with a very nice Australian sporran fronted with Wallaby fur and tassels made from Gum Tree nuts but, as yet, I have no photos of it. A situation to be rectified soon!

A short visit but a very pleasant one, and it was good to meet old friends again.
