Yes!!!!

After 4 years of clicking my heels together, this kiltie finally gets to go home. Yes, I know, I’ve “always had the power to go home,” but this time I get to do it and still keep working! All I have to do is write up a proposal for all the powers-that-be so they can feel warm and fuzzy all over, all under, and some places inbetween.

Instead of working 9 to 10 months away from home, now I can spend all that time there with the mate , the dogs , and the mother-in-law ! Oh yes, and the pub!

I’ll still come back to the west coast now and then for the more intense work (not that it couldn’t be done in Georgia, but one must appease the client, mustn’t one).

During the next 6 weeks I’ll be packing and shipping or donating my paltry possessions so I and my trusty parrot can begin our eastward migration. I have family and friends to see along the way so this trip should take at least 2 weeks…or more. (I’ll be working on the road, too. That will slow me down a bit.) I’ve only worked out half the itinerary (the friends and family that must be seen if I’m going to be allowed to live), but I’ll be watching for kilt nights along the way. It would be great to meet up with some of you on my way across.

I am just totally stoked, jazzed, chuffed…I’m beside myself and a happier couple you’ve never seen!
