Newbie from Norcal
Introducing myself, the fanatical wannabe kiltmaker who dreamt up the idea to kilt her spouse, the wannabe Scottish fiddle player, less than a week ago. A quick google last Sunday discovered "who wants to sign up for Elsie's Norcal kiltmaking workshop?" and further googles of Elsie and XMTS gave me enough information to set my destiny. Day 1 find, read and join XMTS, contact Richard Behling (way2fractious) and he lets me know that class sign up is past, order Elsies' book, fail to be able to contact Elsie and fall asleep dreaming in tartan. Day 2 talk to Elsie, I am in!, and let hubby know a tank is in his future. He spends all night looking at tartans and Tuesday I contact the 2 mills in Scotland that Elsie told me about and voila the tartan shipped on Thursday, the book arrived today and I am exhausted and overcome with fear and dread having read much of it and knowing what I have gotten myself into. Cannot really blame XMTS, you all seem very nice, and I am happy to be here.
