Rules are interpreted.... that's always how it is. I would wager that a number of men have come to the Club in the past in a kilt and the "shorts" rules...and "No leg showing" rule have been interpreted to disallow kilts. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that the Caddiemaster knows that, and just "followed the rules".
So I suspect that aside from the snub of not even bothering to view Jeff before denying him access to the course, the Caddiemaster was not out of line here.
However, the CLUB....for having a rule on the books which is interpreted to disallow the playing of GOLF in a KILT in SCOTLAND is so...so....
...it's just so incredibly stupid that I don't even have words for how STUPID this is. I could see it at a really snooty, stupid, stuffy course in the USA. But in SCOTLAND? It's insane.
