Breakfast with Barb T.
Wow...I'm speechless...bewildered...wow. This day couldn't get any better!!
Firstly, I knew it was going to be a good day because of my plans to go and have breakfast at a local diner with Barb Tewksbury and her husband, Dave. Barb was up here in the North Country for a conference this weekend and had contacted me about three weeks ago to ask if I'd be interested in meeting for dinner or such. Some slight changes in plans had us meeting for breakfast instead.
What I wasn't expecting was for her to come with a birthday present!! A good friend (really good as you're about to find out) was up to some sneaky business and commissioned Barb to make me a kilt in my "clan" tartan...the US Army Tartan. So we had a great breakfast and then after breakfast Barb picked up her jacket and went sorting through it to pull out a US Army kilt for me. I was shocked. Pics of the giving will be posted as soon as Barb sends them to me...luckily Dave had his camera, as I was unprepared. I did don it as soon as I got home, however, and here are a couple of pics!!!
Somebody posted an observation the other day that Barb has sure cranked out a lot of kilts recently. I asked her how she does it so quickly. I was in awe when she told me that she started the layout on this kilt last Wednesday...that's right...October 6th...4 days ago. She made the entire kilt, from scratch, between Wednesday and Saturday, working on it in the evenings!!! WOW!!!
