    Traditional Scottish Breakfast?

I want to hold a breakfast for some friends. I could go with the American standards: Pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast etc. But I thought I might throw in a Scottish flavor.

What would a "Traditional" Scottish breakfast consist of?

Not trying to cause discord here, but just how does Canadian bacon figure in a Scottish breakfast???

Or is this one of those things like French fries not being French?? Is Canadian bacon really Scottish?

Obviously, we don't call it "Canadian" bacon up here! Canadian bacon is the term Americans and other non-Canadians use to refer to back bacon as opposed to "streaky" bacon.

On my last trip (granted over 25 years ago) I saw no real difference between good quality US bacon and that served in Scotland. I guess that's the source of my confusion. Sure some cheap bacon is nothing but fat, but not all. I like Canadian bacon, but I also like good Virginian bacon, and Brazilian bacon, and - well you get the idea.

So - so far the stuff would include:

Eggs, Black Pudding, bacon, banger, mushrooms, tomato, fried kippers.

    Coffee? Tea? Milk? Porrage?
