However there is a teesny weesny piece of Minnesota in Lake of the Woods County known as Northwest Angle that pokes above the 49th parallel and can only be reached by land via Canada. It includes the township of Angle Inlet.
Hence the state is indeed split in two - weird how some of these borders work.
