Wow, what a warm welcome! Thanks! There were some great definitions of a Yooper, though I must say that I had to look up what a Stormy Kromer was (I discovered I was familiar with the hat, but had never heard it called that). A cross between a Wisconsinite, a Canadian, and a Michigander is apt. I only drink Vernors when I'm sick, and hockey is, perhaps surprisingly, not as popular as you'd think up here. Football is the big sport - lots of Packers fans! And the Upper Peninsula is actually contiguous with northern Wisconsin, but close enough. Any other questions are welcome!
