Wife's Maple leaf tartan Box Pleat
I had 4 meters of double wide Maple Leaf Tartan fabric that I wanted to have made into a kilt. I thought it would be a case of just rip it down the middle and have 8 yards of material but I found out that this was not feasible since the Maple Leaf tartan is asymmetrical.
So I contact Matt Newsome at the Scottish Tartan Museum to see if he would make matching box pleat kilts for my wife and me. I wanted to give it to her as a Christmas present.
Around the 9th of December, Matt let me know that he was ready to start on my two kilts. I asked him to do the wife's kilt first and sent it onward, hoping it would get here by Christmas. I got a notification it was mailed on 20 December and thanks to the USPS, it arrived the 24th of December.
So here are a front and back picture of the kilt.

I made the sporran myself and will make another one for me.
We are all set to attend Highland Games in Canada now after we retire to Michigan next year.
Regards.
Tom
