Most of FDR's boyhood photographs seem to show him in sailor suits. Until he was 3 or 4 he wore what would seen today to be dresses, a custom of the day for boys from affluent families.

I do find it interesting though that they would go to the trouble of having a "clan badge" made up based on the family crest, just for a childs outfit, but then if you have money to burn....
