On the Scottish Register of Tartans website (and most elsewhere) the wide yellow stripes are shown running horizontal. However, the Celtic Croft website has a photograph of a man wearing a Morris of Wales kilt outfit with the wide yellow stripes running vertical.
The swatches often are sideways which can be an isse for the Welsh tartans. The dominant stripes in the cloth run VERITCALLY, not horizontally on a finished kilt.
