I agree about the "less fiddly" part. If you use just three stitches for I-cord, I'm afeared the garter would feel like a rope around your calf, and not in the rodeo sense.

I certainly wasn't suggesting such a narrow cord! The link was merely for the method, not the finished width.

You could also try the old knitting knobby. Just add more nails.

A very warm thanks for the links, descriptions, and the useful links!
I'm told that the project will be undertook tonight so the air will ring to the sound of crossed knitting needles. LOL!

My wife is an accomplished knitter and has kept me in sweaters, scarves, and mittens over the years. This past winter she produced an assorment of tams and three pairs of the most wonderfully warm kilt hose I've ever worn with a custom fit for my small narrow feet. Did I mention she can cook too?

Hmmm I wonder if there's a patten for an knitted Inverness Cape out there?

Again thanks for your help everbody!

P.S. Matt She made the almost identical comment when she saw the instruction about the "tiny little scarve". LOL!
May all your blessings be the ones you want and your friends many and true.
