Or perhaps not. It's nearly the end of the month and all will be revealed. what I will say at this stage is that it is the oldest surviving version of this particular clan's tartan.

Man, this is bugging me. I can see the pattern that I recognize but don't know what it is!

    Kinda fun though!

Look again, look for the error and see if that helps.

Error, eh? I'm not sure if I see an error in the tartan, but I do see an error in an assumption I've been making all along. I assumed the rightmost red stripe was a pivot stripe, but either I was wrong about that or the weaver used the wrong color, because there is a blue stripe to the left of the left salmon stripe, but the stripe to the right of the right salmon stripe is green. Either the weaver made an error or the tartan is a bit more complicated than I had assumed.

Based on those salmon stripes and the triangulation of two wrong guesses I'm leaning towards Lorne now.
None of the above. At least two other possibilities missing from the list.

Now you're looking and on the right lines.

I do enjoy reading these threads. So much to learn... Fascinating stuff.

Is it a Maxwell tartan and the error is the grey-blue tramlines should be green?

EDIT: Mmmmm, further research tells me the Maxwell is a Vestiarium Scoticum creation so probably not.

Maxwell... It does look similar to me.
