It has arrived!
A while back I designed a tartan as a memorial to my late grandfather, and avid hunter and outdoorsman as well as a veteran of the 2nd World War. The registered name is simply the "Hawes" tartan ITI # 8357, but the longer name is "Forest and Sky, the Jack Hawes Memorial Tartan"
Here it is on the roll

And with a photo of it's namesake.

The tartan will be a physical and wearable memorial to my grandfather and the colours represent the colours of the outdoors that he enjoyed so much and taught me to enjoy. As well as black for the colour of the beret of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps in which both he and I served in.

Lest We Forget...
great tribute, and great picture. His and his fellow soldiers sacrifice and commitment should not be forgotten.
