What I would suggest is to make an arrangement with the cantle seller if you do this project yourself. Why the arrangement? Chances are that a cantle bought elswhere will not fit the intended sporran. Sporrans are made around the cantle, and not vice versa. The good news is that you have a MoD sporran which should accomidate most military style backings.
