Thank you kind sir! As I wait in the shadows of giants, I'm really hoping that I can get lucky and give one or two of these a good home

Keep in mind that English (and Scottish) tailoring is more exact than US tailoring. If it says 40R (UK) it's closer to a US 38R. The British tailors apparently use actual measurements of the jackets, not the men inside them. IE if your actual measurement IS a 42, you might wish to have a coat that doesn't fit you like a wet suit and order a 44.

Darn it Artificer, now you've told everyone about them. I was just about to cut off an arm to make the size and bid for them.

Sorry Mate. But on the upside, you'll still be able to play fussball with a full team.

I won't post links for the three jackets I've lost out on this week, as it would make even the hardest man cry.

Plus, with the money you save on amputation and these purchases, you could probably buy one of the STM'S new Linen Jackets

Well, it all looked great until I read the bit in the questions section about the seller not offering international shipping.

Looks like it's a 40R in the UK that will be the lucky one...

It's usually worth asking... Either the seller or if there's a UK member that might help you out...

Cygnus, I'd be happy to post a package to a fellow kiltie, if you wish. Plus you get the item repackaged and marked as a gift to avoid problems with import duties. Pm me for contact details if you want to proceed with this.

Yes indeed! And a hearty thanks for the offer!

Unfortunately, the doublet I had my eye one was snatched up at the very last second by somebody with a faster internet connection than me (which is okay, since I had placed an order for a new regulation doublet just hours before this thread was posted!).

Thanks again, Gingerpose, and to Artificer for posting!
