Re: Stone Mountain Highland Games Oct 14-16
I spoke to Scott Turner (known as SouthernScot on here whenever he does show up), and he invited us to gather at the Lamont tent as we did a couple yars ago.
How about 1:00 on Saturday at the Lamont tent? That hsould allow the pipers and other participants to get the noon gathering done and still get there for a group shot. I'm up for any other proposals, but I thought I'd at least get things going.
I talked to Greg at the Celtic Tavern last night, and he'll give us any consideration we want if we want to meet there. I'll definitely be there on Friday evening, and we'll have more fun than I ever did at the reception. (No insult intended toward the reception, and I do love to dress up for it. I just like the more intimate setting of the Tavern where we can stand around, talk, wander out on the streeet, etc.
A bunch of us will also go to the German restaurant just outside the west gate in the village of Stone Mountain again on Saturday evening. If you want to go, let me know and I'll have Klaus reserve the patio for us, assuming the weather cooperates!
So, let me hear from you guys. Where do we meet? When? Whose cattle are we going to reive first?

I'll be at the games both days for sure, mostly being meeter-greeter at the Gordon tent. Friday nite sounds like a winner, Jim. I'll probably come from setting up the tent on the field Friday.

I finally got my calendar straightened out and it doesn't look as though I will be attending the games.
My Scottish Rite Valley is having their fall Reunion that week-end and it is a must attend for me, my Mason Brothers here on the site will understand the reason why. I hope to see some of my friends some where down the road in the near future. God Speed to all.

@Thomas H: YES! All the rabble are invited to meet up at the Lamont tent at 1:00 following the close of the ceremonies which usually go off at noon. That'll let the pipers and drummers get their duties attended to and still make it for a meet up, cattle reivin', whiskey tastin', lie- tellin', tartan wearin'n, kilt comparin', photo takin' good time. You can put real faces with aliases and shake some very fine hands.
You are also cordially invited to the Tavern session on Friday evening in Conyers. (Not far from Stone Mountain.) We've met there before, and it'll be a very casual event. And, the place is extremely family-friendly, so you can being kids if you like.
I know that fargor and Turpin will be there, and I think Ben (Atlanta Kiltie), and Southern Scot with his crew (4-5 kids), and several others, so this will be a fine gathering in preparation for the games. I'm hopin' Tyger and a few others I've not met will make it over on Friday as well. It's much less rushed than meeting at the games on Saturday, and we really get a great chance to chat.
