Carved this wall plaque to display my dress dirk. However, need to make new scabbards for them though.
Did you make the knives, too? That's some impressive carving. I like the look of the blades un-scabbarded.

Nope, didn't make the blades, just the display plaque. The dress dirks wood was oak, and the guy who made them must have had trouble in carving for it isn't as polished as the other day one. Searching through the posts inspires me to try though. I'm thinking about it, but the $$$ right now prevent it. Need to try making a sporran first.
Very nice carving and looks quite baronial.

Very nice carving. Very clean, well finished.
Can we get a closer picture of the sgain with your arms painted on it?
Great Job,
Harold Cannon : Ya, well i shall post it but I don't like it. The woman who painted it was very talented and when I saw what she had done for others I was excited, but my expectations were not met when I got the sgian dubh back. Haven't done it but considering removing the arms. But my first priority is making a new adjustable kilt belt.
You're pretty good stocked with pointed items. Good for you.
I like the breeze between my knees
That's a great display stand !
