    What the Froach!

Heather Ale or more correctly 'Leanne Fraoch' is a lovely Scottish ale that I was introduced to by the barman Donald at Park Lane Tavern when Bellhaven Scottish Ale was removed from on tap. Now the Fraoch I had was bottled.

This Saturday, I learned from the Park Lane bar manager, Sara the William Brothers who brew this fine ale and others are beginning a tour of the US. They will be having a cask opening at Park Lane Saturday, 11/12. Sounds like a Kilt Night to me! Here are prior threads that mentions Fraoch and Heather Ale.

    Who else has had Froach?

Bought it at a liquore store in Edinburgh while walking back to our room. It was quite tasty stuff and we topped it of with some fine scotch.

We were able to get it from Beverages and More when we lived in San Jose. The owner of the local store has said he would order it for us, unfortunately, he hasn't been able to find a distributor for it.

I leave the pronunciation to our Scottish brethren. I would contact the Williams brothers through their website when they would be on the West coast.

    Re: What the Froach!

I have a couple of bottles of this in my fridge as we speak. Finally found it locally a few weeks ago after having tried it at a local beer festival. None of my local liquor stores have this on hand; even though one has a pretty extensive beer selection. But, I found it locally at a grocery store that specializes in gourmet food and drinks.
