Yes indeed many kilties were featured on Sky Sports News yesterday, in their feature on The Tartan Army in Spain.
It looked so much like here! The bright sun, the streets lined in palm trees, the lovely beaches.
Sky Sports News interviewed several Scotland fans, who were united in their hope of an unlikely victory.
Alas once again Scotland finds itself on the outside looking in...

you are right, we will be sitting in our armchairs while other nations enjoy the fun, unfortunately the manager, Craig Levein who has made an absolute mess of our section is going to be kept in the job to destroy our hopes for qualifying for the World Cup in 2014.
I was unable to get to Alicante but the spectacle of the Tartan Army abroad in sunshine is something to see

Re: Glasgow awash with kilts
It must rankle all Scottish football fans to see England and Ireland in, and Scotland out.
It seems to be a story repeated over and over... I have read that Scotland has never progressed beyond the first group stage in either the World Cup or the European Championship.
But what can be done?

You are correct, we have never progressed beyond the group stages in either tournament and it is now I believe 7 tournaments passed since we last qualified.
Certainly we do not have the players now of the calibre of Baxter, Johnstone, Law, Dalglish or Souness, the players we have now are no more than well paid average journeymen. This lack of class players together with the SFA selecting a numpty of a manager and also a selection of numpty managers in recent years are the main reasons why we are well down the ratings.
I do not predict any upward surge of form in the immediate future

I fear we will never again reach the glories of those special days leading up to Argentina 78. Shattered a football nation to the core and I don't think we ever recovered.

But what a great hurl Ally gave us up to the players leaving Hampden in a helicopter, then in Argentina it went all wrong, we were going to win the World Cup. weren't we?
