    Re: Red-laced brogues/(p)review my attire...

Looking very good, Michael. I am sure your bride will be proud of you.
As for your hose choices, I am a bit uncertain about both the red and the grey. The red seems a little bright compared with the tartan, while I have a general dislike for grey (especially with tartan).
Personally I would suggest a more subdued red, or alternatively a blue or a green (both somewhat subdued) rather than either.
After all, you have eight months to get the details sorted out.
But if the choice comes down to the two pairs you have, I would reluctantly recommend the grey.
    Regards,
    Mike

And if THAT sporran is getting sent to the bench, the one you're getting from Scott must be spectacular (not that I doubt that it would be).

You can put the horsehair one out to pasture here in Kentucky if you'd like.
    Thanks!

    Haha,

well, I was thinking that if I didn't like it (and my Dad said the same thing) I could simply flog it, to help pay for the rest of my outfit (not to mention the wedding itself!)

In the end, I might just hang on to it for a while longer... just in case

    Cheers,

    Michael

Very nice and carefully considered outfit. You do look the business. Congratulations on your forthcoming nuptials and don't forget the pictures!

Best wishes for your future happiness to you both.

    Thanks for the input Mike,

I might try to get some pics of the hose themselves in natural light. The "grey" is something more of a beige, steely blue-grey combination (similar to the softer tones of the weathered tartan).

My general plan it not to spend too much before the actual event... Let's see how that gones... indeed, there are still 8 months of twiddling my thumbs to go

    Cheers,

    Michael

Michael, you look great. As another poster indicated, with the addition of an Artificer sporran, you will become the highland wedding poster boy. All the best for the forthcomming nuptuals. Cheers

I like both looks. Think the gray hose look nicer but that's because I've only wore the kilt for a year and still can't get away from being too "matchy" most of the time. Have to agree with your mom on that hairy thing but it will work for an event like you're own wedding. Good luck on your upcoming event!

Me too. I want one made up in tartan, cut on the bias.
