Re: Do You Like Earth Tones?
I do love earth tones, and especially the Weathered tartan group, this time of year. I have a casual in Weathered MacDonald that I do not wear enough, as its fit is not as comfortable to me as my tanks. I have some Weathered Douglas fabric ready to send of for Bonnie Heather Greene to work her magic on soon to complete my Douglas tartan kilt collection (modern, ancient, red ancient, brown, black and soon weathered variants).
Unfortunately the "autumn" color palette is not as attractive on my "winter" palette looks and personality, although some of the crossover colors such as the greys, medium to dark olives, tans, and rusts can be made to work for me if I mate them with a compatible winter staple, such as black, navy, charcoal or deep claret red. Straight browns and oranges and such, typical autumn colors, look too muddy and dull on me, although cocoa brown is another that I can wear if mated properly. I do wear brown leathers on a daily basis and prefer to continue that into at least late autumn before switching over to the blacks for the winter and early spring.

Douglas Brown with Navy blue:

Maple Leaf with a strong red:

Braveheart movie tartan with Black t-shirt:

I think I need some other strong color mated with the earth tones to accent it enough for my personal tastes and personality.
