These are good to grab when they are available as Brewin has gone several months at a go without having these for sale.

    Cheers,
True enough, and undoubtedly of good quality. However at less than $18 converted from Sterling, a decent value.

Very nice! Thanks for posting. I had thought burgendy or claret hose might not go well with my Henderson ancient, but the "color palet" of your tartan is just close enough to convince me otherwise. Gonna have to get a pair of those hose. Thanks!

Re: Lack of burgundy hose in highland stores

    Greetings,
May I also suggest the following:http://jas-townsend.com they are a 18th Century vendor and they have heavy maroon cotton hose that they sell to wear with knee breeches, they also have tie leg garters that they can weave in colors that you choose from the website. Explore the site and have fun.

I have two pair of their maroon hose and am quite pleased with them. Check out the specials page they also have "seconds" in maroon and I have trouble finding the defect in them. They wear just fine and stay up with the standard elastic flashes.

    Regards,

    Brian

Well, I took a chance and bought a pair. They arrived today, and they fit me fine, but are a touch longer than other hose I had purchased in the past. Also these were 46% Wool, 46% Acrylic, 7% Nylon 1% Elastane, which I think may be a bit less wool than the others.

I bought this pair at MacGregor & MacDuff (sp?) in Glasgow. I love them!

I really like the way they look with Isle of Skye, which tartan contains no claret.
